Black Queer Town Hall

Black Queer Town Hall is a platform committed to celebrating excellence by cultivating community, sharing knowledge, and uplifting voices in culture. Working closely with advocates and entertainers – Bob the Drag Queen and Peppermint, we created a 3-day event of discussions and performances centering Black, queer voices and raising money for The Okra Project, an organization feeding Black trans people.

The event raised over $250,000, earned coverage in the New York Times, brought in the legendary Angela Davis as well as superstars Laverne Cox, Todrick Hall, and MJ Rodriguez, and streamed to over 100,000 viewers on NYC Pride and GLAAD’s YouTube pages. Black Queer Town Hall was a small way to help fight racism, homophobia, and transphobia, and make the world more inclusive.
